Margaret is a specialist family lawyer with Josiah-Lake Gardiner Solicitors.

As a trained mediator, collaborative lawyer and arbitrator she is able to inform clients of the options available to resolve their issues; offering them a service tailor made to their individual needs.

Applying her knowledge and experience she supports clients in resolving the many and varied issues arising from relationship breakdown. She understands the potential emotional and psychological impact of and will work with counsellors to assist clients in coping with all that the separation process may throw at them

She also advises clients at the beginning of relationships on cohabitation, pre nuptial and pre civil partnership agreements

Her approach is pragmatic, and acting in a constructive way she strives to assist clients reach agreement. Where this is not possible she is able to robustly prepare cases for court (including injunctions to freeze assets or protect children)

Her clients range from housewives to high profile individuals. Cases will often involve overseas assets and trusts. Using all her skills she will strive to obtain the best financial outcome for her clients

Margaret is dual qualified (Australia and England & Wales). She is a member of the Law Society Family Law Panel and an accredited member of Resolution (specialist subjects complex financial matters and private children issues)

She sits on the Dispute Resolution and the Skills and Support committees of Resolution First for Family developing and shaping non- court based processes and providing courses to fellow practitioners.

Margaret is a contributing author to the Resolution Family Disputes Hand Book.  She has appeared on TV and published articles in professional and national journals.
