Katie Snowball works in Global Infrastructure at Google.
Katie has had a 25-year career that ranges from teaching and medicine, through to the music and tech industries. Katie rode the dot-com boom and bust, including founding an Internet startup with 4 friends, eventually selling the company in 2004. Most recently, she has spent the past 7 years building Google’s global fibre optic networks and datacentres. She has a keen interest in promoting careers for women in tech industries, and is a regular speaker at events.
Katie has a BA in Biology from Southampton University, a Postgraduate in Environmental Education from Nottingham University, is a qualified waterski instructor and surprisingly competent flying trapeze artiste.
